Firstly - I knew it was a blitz yet I still played B&H. Secondly - should DRC be on here?

It's pretty hard to get all of these while having to type out Bosnia and Herzegovina and Antigua and Barbuda. Also, DRC - why would they be here but Republic of Congo not here? Either both or neither, I'd submit.

Sorry about that! DRC has now been removed! Thanks :)

Type 45 countries in 60 seconds. Not a possibility unless I'm looking at a list of them. What good is a quiz that sets you up for failure?

Wow, even 3 minutes would have been hard. Could we get at least one extra minute please?

45 countries in 60 seconds is possible! In fact, on the Africa one, 53, or 54 now, has been achieved! To get 100% in a 60 Second Blitz is a great achievement! You gotta see how many you can get in the time limit - a great challenge. @rangerboywv - Czech Republic is there :)

I respectfully disagree RobPro. The Africa one isn't achievable without a list either.

I'd love to shake the hand of the person who does this. I barely got more than half and did about as well as any have. 45 countries in 60 seconds is just about impossible. I like a challenge but this one's too much.

This is impossible without cheating. I've never understood the point of publishing quizzes that require cheating to obtain a perfect score.

this is terrible, it's impossible to do. The average person types 40wpm, which is based on 5 characters per word, most countries are more than 5 characters, so that means the most you can do LOOKING at a list is 30 countries in a minute.

I understand the whole "challenge yourself" thing, but 60 seconds is a wee bit too hard IMHO. 2 minutes and I would be cool with it.

Well like most 60 Second Blitz' there are full length versions available on Sporcle too. The 60 second blitz is meant to be hard! That is why it is here :D! Here is a long version: http://www.sporcle.com/games/midlifecrisis/countries_abc

It's not impossible - I did 41, granted that was after a few tries though. I'm a speedy typer but I know there are faster out there. A quickfire knowledge of geography and an inhumane typing speed...whoever got the full 44 is a Sporcler that you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley....

There needs to be one more minute. I don't think I could type them all out in one minute even if I had the list in front of me.

There are very few situations in which it is helpful for "Azerbaijan" to be the first thing that pops into your head. So that was nice.

i personally feel a lot of people are overreacting. a good quiz is not defined by how many people get 100%. if you need that perfect score ego boost, stop complaining and go try another one. (cue the down votes)

Can't be done (as evidenced by the fact that a whopping 0.1% have done so).

^Actually, 0% would be evidence (but not proof) that it can't be done. If "0.1% have done so," that's not only evidence that it CAN be done, it's proof. You know, because it demonstrates that someone has done it.

I think the short time on this is the point. It's not "see if you can name all of them," but rather "see how many you can name in one minute."

Agreed moviegoer74. 0.1% is concrete proof that it CAN be done, though you would almost have to be a world-class typist, and make no typos. Best I could do was 41, leaving out the 3 longest named countries. Also you can just type "CAR" for Central African Republic.

This isn't so much a quiz as a speed typing test. If the answers were displayed and all I had to do was type them....I'd still get about half. Needs another minute.

Those of you who have said you've gotten 100% correct: Could you qualify how many attempts it took; and/or whether or not any list was used? I don't understand otherwise why anyone would comment here in order to justify that naming all of the countries "IS achievable in 60 seconds." I prefer the notion that "seeing how many you get" is the only reasonable way to approach this type of game... Really, only people who get 100% (in any Sporcle game) on the FIRST attempt should boast of success, no?

@needapausebutton: I think that depends on the quiz. On some quizzes — eg countries of the world, and arguably this one — it’s a pretty decent achievement to get 100% even after a fair bit of practice. “See how many” is one approach to blitzes; but “practice for speed” is a fine one too.

I never realized some people refer to lists when doing some of quizzes. anyhow, why oh why was Bosnia and Herzegovina one of the first countries to pop into my head... (ps @Sporcle, nice icon for the quiz :)

I really see nothing wrong with these sorts of quizzes. Not every game needs to be beatable: you can't "beat" Tetris in the same manner that you can't "beat" this game (legit).
