I was blanking on Elements/10 and Disney/6, then snagged a point for "ununhexium". That said, I would recommend not accepting the placeholder "unun-" names.

@RobPro A great idea for a quiz, but I'm not really sure this needs to be forced order. It just makes you have to click around rather than type in your answers. Also, I agree with metagloria, that placeholder elements shouldn't count, and ununhexium will have its new name very very soon.

I took off the answer in order and removed the Unun's :P Thanks for the feedback!

Great idea! I scored a "triple" on the 10-letter Capitals/States/Presidents. But got some weird answers: When I entered "gold", after the first couple of letters I got the seven letter Pokemon. Also got a pop-up on a short country or capital. I'll see if I can recreate.

Entering "A" gave me the 10-letter answers on the last two categories. You would appear to have an empty alternate answer on those two.

One other piece of advise: Black on dark blue is hard to read. (Both the column heading and the letter counts.) Change the text to sky blue or white, and increase the font size on heading by at least two points.

Found the other bug! If I start to enter "China", I get the 8-letter capital pop up after entering "Chi".

Ah thanks for all this, that is kind of why I made it 'Answer in Order', due to the high number of character in some of these cells I have had to shorten answers to few letters in a few cells..

7 Letter Countries, 7 Letter Pokemon, 6 Letter Capitals and 8 Letter Capitals to be exact.

@RobPro Rather than shortening, you can fit what you can on the blank, and then for the ones that run over (the more obscure/less likely ones) have them set off a bonus answer telling them to type "XXX" because they hit an overflow answer. That way, that solve that substring problem.

When you say XXX, do you mean one of the full, more popular ones?

@RobPro Yeah, one of the specific common ones or a special answer like "6 let number" that you put in there. I'd go with the first option.

Good idea for a quiz RobPro. In addition to the stuff mentioned above, I noticed "Taylor" didn't work for 6 letter presidents.

Oh I am! I went through 196 countries, 196 capitals, 151 pokemon, 118 elements, 50 states, 44 Presidents, 30 numbers, and the animated movies all in a few hour stretch counting each one and managed to miss obvious Norway! Ha! Thanks

Mr Mime is missing for 6 letter Pokemon. Maybe you just forgot about him like you did with Norway or forgot to add an overflow option.

Great quiz! Couple of things: I got the 8-letter state when typing 'and,' you may have a blank answer. Bismuth is listed as a 6-letter element, and is an answer for that, not 7-letters. And Monaco isn't accepted for capitals, but is for countries. 5 globes all the same!

Removed a rogue '/' to sort the first problem. Changed Bismuth and added Monaco! Sorry about that and thanks!

It is just a random topic, what is different between Pokemon and the Disney Section? I was trying to include topics from various Sporcle categories and ones that actually had answers with 4-10 letters.

@RobPro: In future, if you do a similar quiz (and I hope you do), copy the list of all answers to Excel with one answer in each row of column A. Example:
Column A | Column B
Alabama
Alaska
Arkansas
Connecticut
Then use the following code in cell B1 to determine letter count:
=LEN(TRIM(SUBSTITUTE(A1," ","")))
Double-click on the bottom right corner of cell B1 and all the letter counts will be automatically calculated. Sort the results by Column B and you're good to go.

@RobPro: Disney films would be considered a "movie" subject, Pokemon would be Gaming.

Mhm, but I don't consider disney films general knowlegde either! Haha thanks Rockgolf, that would have been alot quicker and stopped errors thanks!

Please accept "Aluminum" for the 8-letter element. It is an alternate, equally correct spelling.

Further to imcala's comment, I may as well say it before the UK crowd notices, but "Caesium" should be acceptable as a 7 letter element!
