	Another common name for the Seven Years' War is the French and Indian War (at least in the United States). I would recommend accepting that answer.

	Gowhere, most of the nations involved in these 9 wars had colonies throughout the globe that also saw fighting (regardless of how minor).

	I think the reason French and Indian War doesn't work is because that just refers to the war in North America, which basically means it wouldn't count as a world war, while Seven Years War encompasses the whole thing

	Please accept "World War One" (and presumably "World War Two"). Most of these wars were fought on more than one continent, and the list wouldn't be out of place in other textbooks, such as that by R.R. Palmer and Joel Colton. On the other hand, you could probably add a couple of intercontinental wars (I'm not sure which) from a less Eurocentric or Americentric viewpoint.

	Sorry, I am not sold on it being a World War because a European war had minor skirmishes in some other part of the globe. Bailey's criteria seems to be that it had to engulf Europe and involve one or two other parties in small skirmishes elsewhere, normally thougn not exclusively in North America. If it weren't for the masses of colonial troops used in World War I, even that would be a debatable case. World War II there is no doubt. Major battles involving many thousands took place in Europe, Africa, East Asia, and the Pacific. Countries from North America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Oceania had major troop involvement.

	A world war is defined as a war affecting the majority of the world's most powerful and populous nations. At the times many of these wars occured, the worlds population was centred in europe and what wasn't was all controlled by european collonies. Therefore all of these absolutely qualify as world wars.

	The revolution isnt exactly a world war. The only nations that were involved with America was Britain and France (maybe even spain).

	I'm curious how the American Revolution qualifies. Russia, Austria, Prussia, and the Ottoman Empire were not involved and they were some of the other major powers in 1776.

	The American Revolution involved fighting in North America (obviously), the Atlantic, Gibraltar and the Mediterranean, the West Indies, and India. Seems close enough.

	That being said, the 80 Years War, which saw the Dutch fighting the Spanish and Portuguese pretty much all over the world, would seem warranted for inclusion. The French and English wars against the Spanish in the same time period, as well as the Anglo-Dutch Wars, seem like they could arguably included too, though.
