| Why aren't the AFL, AAFC, ABA, WHA, and American Association included? All had franchises which are still currently in existence, so noting the defunct ones might be useful. Would that leave too many answers? And why aren't the Boston Yanks included? In addition, a bunch of early NBA teams that folded are omitted - the first NBA season in 49-50 featured the Washington Capitols (folded 1951), the Baltimore Bullets (folded 1954), the Chicago Stags (folded 1950), the St. Louis Bombers (folded 1950), the Indianapolis Olympians (folded 1953), the Anderson Packers (folded 1951), the Sheboygan Red Skins (folded 1952), the Waterloo Hawks (folded 1951, not to be confused with the Tri-Cities Blackhawks, who became, eventually, the Atlanta Hawks), and the Denver Nuggets (folded 1950). From the early NFL, I'm not sure if you're missing more, but you're definitely missing the Frankford Yellow Jackets of Philadelphia, who suspended operations in 1931. |
