like the idea, but it's a little too difficult if you ask me. I like the creativity though!

@Reubs_Chem_Rb: I think this just needs a tiny bit of tweaking - make sure your "clever" clues aren't just throwing people off track. For example "The Whole Year" did not even come close to making me think of "The Four Seasons" which obviously was your intent. So see if you can adjust that one, and any others which are worded ambiguously or obscurely.
You also should put your answers in alphabetical order. There is no need to have us "search" for those we know in the answer field. - needapausebutton (Curator of the "Classical" music subcategory)

Had a lot of fun with this one, and like the non-standard clues. 5/5

I got them all but missed Saint Saens. The clue included nothing musical so I jumped the gun and guessed Mendelssohn knowing he was an extreme youth prodigy (I didn't get to his clue which was good). Think about and tweak the clues.

OK, Much, much better!
Hey, if you can, shoot me an e-mail (my address is on my Sporcle profile page)... I have a few thoughts and suggestions, which I think can be useful for you as you continue making fine Classical quizzes.
Meanwhile, I've made this quiz a "Curator Pick" and it is now highlighted on the Classical subcategory page: http://www.sporcle.com/games/subcategory/classical

Oh, and one more quick thing, for now: Change your title to "Classical Composers, Concisely". That will serve to differentiate your quiz from the dozens of pre-existing quizzes that are blandly called "Classical Composers", and will pique players' interest (they won't be thinking "oh, this quiz again").

Thank you very much for all the suggestions. I've added them to the quiz now.

Gah, got them all right except the second-last one! Bloddy Grieg, one of the most specific clues on here too, just don't know his work well enough. Excellent quiz.

Unfortunately, Sporcle alphabetizes by first name. A way around this is to alphabetize the answers by last name yourself and then set the clues to be in random order.

I realize the clues are just meant to be hints and not necessarily accurate, but I feel compelled to point out that Mozart was not poisoned and Mendelssohn was not Jewish. The alleged poisoning of Mozart is speculation made famous by the "Amadeus" story, but there is no historical evidence to support it. Mendelssohn's family was of Jewish origin, but his father renounced Judaism, and Felix was baptized Lutheran

@iglew I know, the clues aren't meant to be accurate. They are meant to give misconceptions like them just so that the game is made easier. But, I like that you know what you do. :D

9, 16, 32 was a great clue.
