	ok firstly. If your going to say 'Every possible bay, strait, sea and ocean you can dream of is listed' then it had better be. also this is an awesome effort and people just giving it 1 star with no comment is pathetic. you missed the southern ocean,weddell sea, ross sea, celtic sea, sea of sargasso, straits of denmark, the bosphorus strait, lake baikal, balkhash, victoria, tanganyika, malawai, titicac, nicargua, all the great lakes, canadian lakes. caspian, aral, onega, ladoga...etc and i'm sure there are a lot more. you say bodies of water, so lakes should count. I would reckon you could unpublish this then find another 100 answers to add to the 100 you already have then republish this and then it'll be epic. also have zoomed in bits for south east asia and europe.

	Dude, epic quiz!! But you really need to make it answer-in-order for two reasons. First, one shouldn't get credit for entering a body of water if one doesn't know where it is. Second, it will put the Map Number above the "Enter a name of a body of water: ____". Why is that important? It allows you to zoom the map (144% works well for me), but still know for which map number you are answering. It's actually a convenience to the player for this quiz to be answer-in-order as it's less likely a player will miss one of the answers that way. This quiz has a chance to be the gold standard of bodies of water quizzes on Sporcle. The map is excellent. Looks like it's a version of the 1953 International Hydrological Organization (IHO)"Limits of Oceans and Seas."

	Somewhere you should make clear that you're concerned only with saltwater, rather than freshwater. Also, a list of every named body of water (even saltwater only) would easily exceed Sporcle's 200 answer limit, so you may want to scale back the claim of including every body of water. This quiz covers a great many of the most significant ones, but it by no means covers all. The map includes what it includes, and doesn't include what it doesn't include. Players will accept that as long as you don't claim to include everything. You probably don't want to add bodies of water to the quiz as you are using the map as-is, the numbering used is the existing numbering present in the source map. If this map really does come from the 1953 IHO map (and that's likely) then it's understandable that the Southern Ocean is not shown. IHO recognized the Southern Ocean prior to the 1953 version of "Limits of Oceans and Seas" and it currently recognizes the Southern Ocean, but during the period when the 1953 map was produced the Southern Ocean was out of favor and consequently is not shown on the map. The Southern Ocean is the Pluto of oceanography. It's in, it's out, it's back in again.

	Yep. Zoom on Indonesia and Mediterranean could be nice, if possible. As said, if this is polished enough, it has potential to be a superb quiz.

	First, THANK YOU for the comments! I considered this a first draft of a long effort, and appreciate all your help! @tahitiwahini: I went ahead and made it answer in order; the only thing I was worried about that would make an already difficult quiz almost impossible to answer! Hopefully we'll get some more comments and see what other people think.

	@koipen: My plan was to do one full one, and then eventually break it off into quadrants that one could practice on (and see more clearly). In the meantime, I figured you can use your browser tools to zoom in. A shortcut for that on my computer is "Control" + "+". Hope this helps.

	I've tempered the games' claims a little--it was mostly just for dramatic effort, but I can see how it could be misleading and I apologize. I do hope to eventually create one that compiles ALL of them, so keep the missing ones coming (with a source, too, please, if possible). Good luck!

	Suggestions: Get rid of #48 "East Indian Archipelago" which after all is just a catchall for all the bodies of water in the East Indies: Arafura sea, Bali Sea,... Sulu Sea, and Timor Sea. Get rid of #46 Malacca and Singapore Straits because each strait is called out separately by #46a #46b. Accept Malacca Strait/Strait of Malacca and Singapore Strait/Strait of Singapore. Get rid of #28W and accept Mediterranean Sea for @28E or accept Western Mediterranean for the first and Eastern Mediterranean for the second. Accepting Mediterranean for both is a bit confusing. For #59 accept separately Queen Charlotte Sound, Dixon Entrance, and Hecate Strait. For #18 in addition to Inner Seas accept separately: Minch, Little Minch, Sound of Harris, Inner Sound, Sea of Hebrides, Firth of Lorn, Sound of Jura, Firth of Clyde, Belfast Lough, or North Channel. For #2 accept separately: Kattegat, Oresund, Great Belt, or Little Belt. For #19 accept separately Irish Sea or St. George's Channel. For #14 also accept Northwest Passage. For #53 also accept Seto Inland. For #48f also accept Seram. For #48o also accept Suwa.

	@Tahitiwahini: For things like #59 and #18, what if I just add that info. in the extras column. I.E., the answer is "Inner Seas" but the extras column reads "Comprised of Minch, Little Minch, Sound of Harris, etc.?"

In almost all cases you can obtain additional information if you Google wiki and the name of the body of water. 	The link to the IHO publication you provided is about as good a list of the bodies of saltwater in the world that exists. My advice depends on what you plan to do. If you want to just keep your map as is (not add any numbers), then I would just go with my earlier comments about dropping some of the numbers and accepting additional answers for some others. If you're going to modify the map and add additional numbers then the IHO list is a great place to start (as it covers almost all of the significant bodies of water). I think either approach is good depending on how much work you want to put into it. The first approach is less work, fix some of the answers and you're done. It's a quiz about the bodies of water that happen to be numbered on the map. There's nothing wrong with that. If you attempt the second approach, some sort of comprehensive listing of the world's bodies of water, it's a much larger task and there will probably always be one more body of water you could add. Listing the bodies of water of the world is a little like measuring a coastline, the closer you look, the smaller a measuring stick you use, the longer the coastline grows. There's scarcely an indentation in a coastline that doesn't have some sort of name. Slight exaggeration, but you get the point.

	Re your last comment: my only reason for suggesting alternative answers for Inner Seas is that I had never really heard that term before, yet I was familiar with at least some of the bodies of water it encompasses (e.g., Sea of Hebrides). So by accepting those alternatives it would give someone like me a better chance of getting the answer. On the other hand, maybe Inner Seas is a term I should learn. Putting that information on the screen I'm afraid will lead to clutter and make for a busy quiz with scrolling needed to see everything. Good luck!

	I think I'm going to stick with the ones provided on the list/map and change it back to just a regular guess answer without order. Then, what I'd like to do is eventually split it into quadrants and list them all/further divide it into the smaller ones, with a requirement that they be guessed in order. It would just be easier to see I think; right now adding in numbers would be extremely hard to see. Any thoughts/ideas welcome!
