I don't see how a team that couldn't even manage to get to the World Series gets to be called the best MLB team of all time.

White Stockings doesn't seem to work as an answer.

I assume you mean the Mariners, who are second here, the cubs are first. And to answer your question, it's because the world series is only seven games, so it doesn't have a huge impact on their wins/losses record, which is what this quiz is on.

Might want to put the years in order if you want this to get published.

Also, the Indians lost the World Series in '54 and the Mariners didn't even make it in '01, so they shouldn't be on the list. You should be more specific: instead of "best" put "best record."

You have to put Chicago White Stockings.

I'd suggest having to answer in order. I just answered every major league team until all the slots were full, except for the 4 defunct franchises.

Oh, and I think "White Sox" should count for "White Stockings" since the franchise is the same (right?)

Actually, those White Stockings became the Chicago Cubs. You should accept Cubs for White Stockings and Braves for Beaneaters since they are the same franchises.

It does seem strange that 3 of the "best of all time" did not win the World Series in years where there is one. But I understood immediately what you were looking for and have no problem with it. You do need to accept White Stockings, though.

It will take "Stockings".

They didn't win the Series either, but a list without Cleveland 95 gets no votes from me.

Why do you have to put "Chicago White Stockings" but you don't have to specify "Philadelphia Athletics"? Just curious.

It didn't see White Stockings as a plural for some reason.

You need to make sure to specifically accept "White Stockings," simply saying "last names acceptable" doesn't work for teams with names like that.

I can't believe you made a quiz that didn't accept "Rays" as an answer.
