These are WWF/WWE (no WWWF or any other promotion) wrestlers who have, at one point, gone by a one-word name (no spaces or punctuation). Actual names (like Bob or Steve or whatever) also count. There's a separate category for wrestlers who have gone by names that fit the form of "THE ____", with the space being one word.
If I left anyone off (I'm sure I did) or included someone that shouldn't be on this list, let me know.
Feb 17th, 2012 at 10:07 GMT
From what I can think of, you've missed Hunico, Jacques from The Quebecers (I'm guessing you've included Pierre from The Quebecers though), Antonio from The Heart Throbs. I'd argue about Doink, as his name was actually Doink The Clown.
Feb 17th, 2012 at 11:56 GMT
If Doink is there you should except Dink. Also you should state it is only male superstars.
Feb 17th, 2012 at 18:29 GMT
Great quiz. Maybe Droz is missing?
Feb 17th, 2012 at 18:29 GMT
Feb 17th, 2012 at 20:29 GMT
I added all those. The reason I used Doink is because on his debut he was just called Doink and later they started to refer to him as Doink the Clown.

Feb 18th, 2012 at 03:47 GMT
Ha I remember him. Thanks, I will.
Feb 18th, 2012 at 07:06 GMT
Tenryu is misspelled (assuming that's who you mean). Also, some you're missing: Lashley (he didn't use his first name for a period), Afa, Sika, Tama, Sionne, Kitao, Camacho, Pantera, Togo, Teioh, Pink, Wink, Cheesy, Sleazy, Queasy, The Gobbledygooker, The Kid (123 Kid's name when he got his first win over Razor), and The Interrogator (used just this name briefly before "Kurrgan" was added). I suppose Akebono and Butterbean could also be bonus answers.
Feb 18th, 2012 at 08:34 GMT
You're missing The Patriot and Sionne (The Barbarian's name when he replaced Samu in the Headshrinkers.) I don't know if you want to also include Pierroth and Cibernetico since the only participated in the Royal Rumble from what I remember. I also forget if Bull Buchanan was just "Buchanan" when he was in Right to Censor. Finally, you have one female on the list - Hiroko - so you should either take her out or put a whole bunch of women in.
Feb 18th, 2012 at 10:24 GMT
You are missing Mistico, Camacho and Vampiro. Also Fatu is the same person as Rikishi, that also counts for Mabel and Viscera.
Feb 18th, 2012 at 21:26 GMT
Wow...my source sucks lol...it's supposedly a "list of every WWF/WWE wrestler" but obviously it's not...Thanks and I'll add all those.
One thing though...Are you sure Kurrgan was known by "The Interrogator"? I was reading about it a few days ago and it said he used that in developmental, but in his WWE debut he was "Kurrgan the Interrogator". That's wikipedia though, so could be wrong.
Also, Togo was Dick Togo I think, and Teioh was Men's Teioh. Or did they go by just one name sometimes? I can't remember.
Feb 18th, 2012 at 21:31 GMT
Did Mistico ever go by that in WWE? I thought he was always Sin Cara. And did Vampiro ever appear in WWE? (Assuming you're talking about the one from WCW)
Feb 18th, 2012 at 23:40 GMT
You're missing The Ringmaster and Tama, good quiz though!
Feb 19th, 2012 at 01:24 GMT
Mistico was always Sin Cara in WWE. Kaientai went by only their last names for all but one or two appearances (which is why Funaki ended up going by only his last name for the next 10 years). The Truth Commission was Recon, Sniper, The Interrogator, and The Jackyl when they came in from USWA (see Survivor Series '97). And no, Vampiro never wrestled in WWE to my knowledge. Battalion, Tarantula, Mosaic, and Nova did, however-- they all fought in a minis match at Royal Rumble '98.

@adamsydor: That's a lot of interesting/helpful stuff, I'll fix it.
Feb 19th, 2012 at 04:26 GMT
Great quiz! but i'm pretty sure Lashley was always known as Bobby Lashley, same with Juventud he was usually Juvebtud Gurrera and although alot of people call him Booker it's Booker T so might cause some confusion as not all one word answers!
Feb 19th, 2012 at 04:43 GMT
Does it matter that Mabel/Viscera are the same person? I would probably put one line and accept either one instead of having to type both. Same thing with "The Godfather/Goodfather".
Feb 19th, 2012 at 11:15 GMT
How about Spanky which was Brian Kendrick's name when he first started with the WWE
Feb 19th, 2012 at 13:43 GMT
You just have the one female, Hiroko. Perhaps you could add the rest of the female competitors too? Lita, Ivory, Chyna, Sable etc
Feb 19th, 2012 at 15:32 GMT
@clarkielfc89: You're right on Booker T-- he was only known as "Booker" in WCW during a storyline with Stevie Ray. Juventud was definitely known only by his first name when he came into WWE with the Mexicools (probably to avoid confusion with the Guerreros). Lashley went only by his last name very briefly, though I can't seem to find the exact timeframe for this.
Feb 19th, 2012 at 15:38 GMT
Also, Barry Windham simply went by "The Widowmaker" during his second WWF run.
Feb 20th, 2012 at 01:27 GMT
Jericho, if only as a bonus answer perhaps?
Feb 20th, 2012 at 01:50 GMT
As noted earlier, "Tenro" is on there twice, and it should be "Tenryu." Also missing: Shinobi, Al Snow's character between Avatar and Leif Cassidy.
Feb 20th, 2012 at 14:27 GMT
Feb 20th, 2012 at 21:11 GMT
You also should include Tomko for Tyson Tomko. He went by Tomko for a while.
Feb 21st, 2012 at 20:17 GMT
Good quiz, but there are just so many people missing from the list that I gave up quite quickly. Good idea, but I think you may find it difficult to make the list comprehensive and not miss people.
Feb 22nd, 2012 at 01:00 GMT
Another guy "among the missing" is the Narcissist (Lex Luger, when he first came to the WWF).
Feb 23rd, 2012 at 00:55 GMT
He never went by just "The Narcissist", it was "The Narcissist" Lex Luger, much like Bret "The Hitman" Hart or "The Model" Rick Martel. Otherwise there would have to be another list for people with one-word "The . . . ." nicknames.
Feb 23rd, 2012 at 02:29 GMT
@colestar: yeah...I used a "list of all WWE wrestlers in history" as a source...and as soon as I finished typing all of the names in, I noticed like 4 or 5 obvious ones (Hawk and Animal for example) that were missing...And obviously there are a LOT more lol. Wonder how long it would take to research/make an accurate list of every wrestler in history.
Apr 4th, 2012 at 23:38 GMT
@Ranandar123: Hawk and Animal were missing because they were usually referred to Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal while in WWF/WWE. Their team name in WWF/WWE was the Legion of Doom. Also, Daivari is misspelled. You have an extra r there.
Apr 20th, 2012 at 19:35 GMT
@colestar that makes sense. And I'll fix that.
Sep 9th, 2012 at 12:43 GMT
Phantasio. Missing him is a grave injustice. ;)
Nov 13th, 2012 at 05:40 GMT
Sting doesn't belong on the list. He never appeared in WWE/F. And you have just "Sheik". He should be in the other category as "The Sheik". Great quiz though. Harder than I thought it would be.
Jan 24th, 2013 at 18:46 GMT
Also, you've got "Tenro" on there twice. I don't recall any such wrestler? Do you mean Tenryu?
