	Interesting idea for a quiz, and I was happily surprised by how many I knew. I got enough accidental hits, though, that I'd suggest forcing people to answer each one (and give them more time as a result). You can't just blind guess _every_ country, but a handful of times what I thought was right for the one I was looking at turned out to be right for some other random one. I think Melekeok is hard enough to know without having to know its predecessor. For my taste the quiz would be better focusing on well-known current capitals whose predecessors are less well known.

	@Rhys: Me too! I was SURE of Palau (because I think a tribe on Survivor: Palau was called Koror) but I typed "Palau" instead of Melekeok. I finally got over my Burkina Faso kryptonite; now it's Melekeok that gets me every time.

	No matter how long I live, I will never be able to spell the capital of Cote d'Ivoire (or pronounce it).

	Interesting idea, but some of them don't really work. What I mean is that some of the predecessors you name predate the existence of the country. So, for instance, Samarkand may have been the capital of the Uzbek SSR, but it was never the capital of Uzbekistan. Similarly, Chongqing was never the capital of the PRC. Belize City stopped being the capital of British Honduras long before Belize became an independent nation.

	Nice quiz though St.Petersburg changed its name to Petrograd in (I think) 1914 prior to the capital moving in 1918.

	Really nice. I'd have enjoyed it even more if they had been sorted by the time those cities ceased to be capitals. (Because that makes it far easier to remember at least some of that additional info.)

	I feel like there's too much time. For these, it's either you know it or you don't, and if you don't you just start guessing and that kind of defeats the point. I'd hack off a few minutes...

	You really can't include Dodoma because only part of the government has moved there. There are a number of countries which have declared that they are moving the capital but functionally haven't really implemented it. Sri Lanka also comes to mind.

	Way too much time. It's easy to name the current capital from the old capitals since many of the old capitals are extremely well known. Love the concept (I made a quiz similar to it a week ago-didn't do as well in number of times played) but it isn't hard enough. Frankly, there were no stumpers other than Melekeok and random guessing of European countries got me the 4 i was missing. Fun quiz, but too much time and too easy. :)

	Shouldn't the successor to Chongqing technically be Taipei? (Back then it was still the Republic of China.)

	For that matter, Hanoi as a successor to Saigon isn't quite right, as Hanoi was already a capital, and since it was conquest, there was no replacement for Saigon. If you want a neutral choice, try Hue.

	Yeah, I think Nanjing should be listed as the immediate predecessor to Beijing. If I'm not mistaken, the KMT was headquartered in Nanjing from 1945-1949, while Chongqing was only the temporary wartime capital during WWII.

	Good quiz, could be fleshed out a lot more though. A more comprehensive list and a having all the previous capitals for each country would turn a good quiz into an amazing one though. And at the risk of being pendantic, Chongqing was a wartime capital when Nanjing was occupied by the Japanese if I remember rightly. Also, it was the Republic of China capital (I don't think the communists had an official capital yet) - so strictly speaking it's a former capital of the ROC (and therefore Taiwan) really. Some obvious candidates for addition to this quiz come to mind - Myanmar is a recent one. Or Winchester for England, though as I suppose England no longer exists as an independent state that's much more tenuous, which might be why you didn't do Bonn/Berlin as well.
