| Mimbleton, not only does Dallas "beat" Boston, but Austin and El Paso do too. Boston is #4 for 6-letter cities, behind those 3 from the Lone Star State. Boston is a very small city geographically, which can explain why it has less people than Austin or El Paso. In the case of Dallas, that city has a larger metro population than Boston as well. Not to beat a dead horse, but I really think people (especially those outside the US) need to understand how geographic boundaries effect the "size" of cities here. People always seem surprised when cities they have heard of like San Francisco, DC, or Atlanta are smaller than cities than Jacksonville or Indianapolis. Although it's interesting to know what city-propers have the most people in them, looking at metropolitan area stats are much more meaningful in judging the effective size of a city. |
