| The 1988 list shows how good the Royals could've been if they were smarter with their pitchers in the mid-80s. Mark Gubicza obviously was on the list. Danny Jackson and David Cone, also on the list, were traded away by the Royals. Throw in Bret Saberhagen, a legit ace in the 80s who missed 20 wins in 1988, and you had the makings of a championship rotation. However, the Royals used all their good luck in 1985, so now they're in the wilderness for 26 years and counting. |
