Steiner is his last name. And Garnet's real name is always Garnet (putting aside what is written in Madain Sari). She doesn't change it; it's just what the party keeps calling her to hide her identity. I don't think Tot, Beatrix, Cid, Steiner call her by her name (Princess, Your Majesty, etc), but they certainly don't call her Dagger.

Hey I think this is a great quiz (5 Globes!) but here's just a few things I wanted to point out: I think more people are familiar with the name "Onion Knight" than "Onion Kid" so it would be great if you accepted both. I think you may have added an 'e' to the end of Kain's name. Lastly, there's a lot of awkward blank space so maybe shrink down the hint column and make the quiz into 2 columns?
Jul 16th, 2011 at 16:22 GMT
It's definitely Onion Knight, not Onion Kid. Also, the names of them in the remake are accepted, which seems like a slight double standard for not accepting Garnet as her name.
Jul 16th, 2011 at 16:43 GMT
@teh_DR: Steiner is what he's known by in the game, same goes for Dagger/Garnet. All answers are from Final Fantasy Wiki, so take it up with them. @Monji: Fixed and thanks. Also I couldn't shrink it.
Jul 16th, 2011 at 16:57 GMT
Ok, but then you gotta remove that "first name only" that is written in the notes section above the quiz.
Jul 16th, 2011 at 18:00 GMT
Great quiz, but as long as you're accepting the class names from the first game, you really ought to accept the original names (Fighter, Black Belt, etc.).
Jul 17th, 2011 at 00:25 GMT
Also, you have Onion Knight as an answer, but you don't seem to accept most (if not all) of the classes from III. You're also missing others from the first game, in addition to the ones I mentioned above.
Jul 17th, 2011 at 01:02 GMT
Fighter and Black Belt aren't real names and I disagree with everything else you've said, sorry. Like I keep saying, take it up with the Wiki.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 04:38 GMT
Not real names? You clearly have never played the original game in its original form. Play it on an emulator or a real Nintendo. It will say "Fighter" and "Black Belt." And you say that you "disagree with everything else [I've] said," but that doesn't make sense. You accept Onion Knight from III, but none of the other classes. This isn't my opinion, it's a fact. I type in "Ninja" and "Sage," and they don't show up. All I'm saying is that you're inconsistent with what you accept.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 04:56 GMT
Then make your own quiz, Freakout.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 05:45 GMT
Excellent attitude. Why bother making simple changes that would make your quiz worthy of publishing when you can yell at people providing constructive criticism?
Jul 18th, 2011 at 12:48 GMT
1) I'm not yelling 2) You already gave the "constructive criticism", and I said I didn't agree. But no, that wasn't good enough for you, you had to keep at it. 3) Look at your attitude when you went and downrated my posts out of spite.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 12:54 GMT
But it's not a question of agreement; you can't disagree with facts. It is a fact that you are inconsistent. It is a fact that you don't accept original names for things.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 13:02 GMT
According to you, the guy who downrates my comments out of spite. It is a fact because as I keep telling you I got the info from the Wiki. Now stop harassing me.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 13:10 GMT
I don't mean to harass you. If you feel harassed, I apologize. But since you follow whatever is on the Final Fantasy wiki, you should read this page:
The first sentence is "The Warrior, also known as the Fighter or the Knight..."
Jul 18th, 2011 at 15:38 GMT
AKAs are just fan nicknames, the name itself is WARRIOR, which the quiz takes.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 15:59 GMT
I'm trying not to lose my mind here, but that is absolutely false. They don't put fan nicknames on that site. Fire up an emulator and you will see that Fighter and Black Belt are the real names. Wait, I'll do it for you:
Jul 18th, 2011 at 21:50 GMT
What did I say about harassing me? You're not getting your way. Drop it.
Jul 18th, 2011 at 22:53 GMT
This isn't about me "getting my way." This is about you bending over backwards to ignore easily verifiable facts. As I said in my first comment, this is a great quiz. However, it has the flaw of being inconsistent. If you accept class names from a later version of the first game, shouldn't you accept the names from the original version as well? If you've played any version of Final Fantasy I, then you should be able to type in whatever the class names were in that version and get the answer right. This goes for III, too. You accept "Onion Knight," but not any other class name from that game. Don't you think that's a problem? I'm not trying to harass or insult you, I'm trying to help you by pointing out mistakes you've made so you can improve your quiz. I make mistakes on my quizzes all the time, and when people point them out, I change them.

you forgot cactuar, moogles, and sephiroth!!!
Aug 12th, 2011 at 18:10 GMT
If you say that only default names are accepted then you should not have "Dagger" because that is not her default name, It is Garnet. And the same goes with Fighter and Black Belt as the game was originally a NES game and the names were Fighter and Black Belt not Warrior and Monk.
Sep 10th, 2011 at 23:58 GMT
@pokemonrulz: They're not main party members. @AdmiralMaxtreme: I guess Onion Knight is included so that there would be an "O". @PurpleMonkey: you forgot Shadow. The Warrior and Monk were indeed called Fighter and Black Belt in the original NES game. It is indeed inconsistent that Onion Knight is the only FFIII class accepted, but I'll let it slide because otherwise there'd be no "O". While the Final Fantasy Wiki is indeed helpful, it's much better to get the information straight from the games themselves. Other than that, pretty frickin' good quiz.

purplemonkey you are so arrogant and annoying. you think that you can go on a persons quiz and downgrade it and then when somebody does it to you you get all defensive, build a bridge and get over it. P.S AdmiralMaxtreme is perfectly correct in all that he says. Slan agus is fuath liom tu mar ta tu dana, glic agus romhar.- Because I speak Irish and I know the facts.
