| @tvfan3 - I guess it is indicative of the way in which the media present the homicide rate in the US. Having said that, looking through the 2008 data shows that the US rate compared to the sample of first world countries I looked at (Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, NZ, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Sweden) show that the US homicide rate is three to four times higher than all of them. I suppose this is the standard the media are measuring against. |
