| @bolitho_1790: From what I've heard of working in the UAE, so that friends can stay in touch when they get sacked, the other phone gets cut off and they have to do a runner to avoid being jailed for outstanding debts. |

| You can't "catch" AIDS, you "develop" AIDS from the HIV virus. "Catch" refers to contracting a contagious virus or infection. AIDS is not a virus nor is it contagious. |

| Are our friends in the DPRK really not doing that badly? Would have thought North Korea would make the malnourished or poverty lists...or are there just no statistics available? |
 | RS89: | Feb 19th, 2010 at 05:42 GMT | | 10 points |
| ^I was thinking the same thing. I imagine that either statistics are unavailable or the statistics are provided by the North Korean government and are thus likely to be highly inaccurate. |

| How can 208% of the people in the UAE have a cell phone? |
 | cuendillar: | Feb 19th, 2010 at 13:39 GMT | | 6 points |
| @dwd500 If they calculate it as 'number of phones'/population, it's possible - then it just means that they have, on average, more than two each. |
 | cuendillar: | Feb 19th, 2010 at 13:52 GMT | | 3 points |
| I doubt the consistency of your source, as these numbers claim that at least 0.1% in Sweden attend secondary school without being able to read. |

 | Esme: | Feb 21st, 2010 at 04:17 GMT | | 8 points |
| I'm not sure why @Nover220 got voted down. HIV is caught; AIDS is developed. It's a basic distinction that doctors have been trying to get people to understand for years. You can see http://www.aids.org/factSheets/101-What-is-AIDS.html#anchor251 for information on the distinction. A simple change of wording from "Catch AIDS" to "Develop AIDS" seems appropriate. @PumpkinBomb is one of our favorite Sporclers, so let's not vote down good advice about a way to make a PB quiz even more perfect. |

| Don't know what your source says but Iceland has 99.9% literacy. The only people who can't read are those who can't humanly possible read.
Iceland is also top of the list when it comes to Internet access.
I'd also imagine we're in the same boat as Sweden when attending secondary school. We have pretty much the same system and everyone goes. |
