	I think Portugal is debatable, apart from the on-screen title to the effect that the ship is off the Portuguese coast. Even if the ship were in Portuguese waters, it's tenuous. You don't see the land at all. (Part of me is secretly applauding your craftiness, though).

	What about Hatay? The real life republic was short-lived, and it was somewhat fictionalized for the movie, but that is where the "Canyon of the Crescent Moon" was located in-story. Petra, while in Jordan, was merely used as the set for the Grail's location.

	elendil has it right. They filmed in Petra but the film wasn't set in Jordan anymore than the upcoming Batman film is set in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is just the stand-in for Gotham. Petra is just the stand-in for wherever they're supposed to be according to the script. elendil is probably right about Hatay (which according to Wikipedia is part of modern-day Turkey and only existed in 1938-1939, right when the film is set, I would guess, based upon the presence of Nazis), hence Turkey being an answer.

	Turkey? Really? I couldn't remember the name Hatay, which should be on there because it once DID exist, but I did throw in Jordan (assuming Petra) and Tunisia (assuming Star Wars, believe it or not!). That being said, anything to do with IJ works pretty well for me. Because like Marcus Brody, I speak dozens of languages like a native. I know everybody from here to the Sudan. I have a couple days headstart on you (and once got lost in my own museum). By the way, does anybody here speak English?

	Anybody else guess Thailand because of the famous error in (I think) the first film? The scene where he's looking at a map and it says "Thailand", a country generally known at the time as "Siam".
