The other problems are fixed, but adjectives have a long, rich history in comics. Nobody in their right mind would accept "Spider-Man" for "The Amazing Spider-Man", and there's no real reason why the same principle shouldn't apply to new titles.
DC, unlike Marvel, subsidizes poorly-selling comics, so I wouldn't worry too much about cancellation in the immediate future. But they clearly don't have enough popular characters to carry fifty-two series, and some of these titles are just bizarre. |
