| @mrdalliard: Big empty spaces are generally not the best places to put power plants. Given Australia's population density of it's "big empty spaces" (the Outback) of 0.015 per km², the power lines from each plant would have to travel for hundreds of miles for it to be fully utilized. At that kind of distance, the signal degradation would be massive, meaning lots and lots of wasted electricity, and given the price tag on creating alternative energy plants, make the whole system highly unprofitable, and lets face it, money is the name of the game. |
