| This comment does reveal answers so play the quiz first. I realize this quiz is somewhat difficult but there are only so many 'name the console' quizzes that can be done. It's an interesting learning experience though :) Looking at the clock speeds should help determine the time frame of the system's release. I'm not very knowledgeable of tech stuff so maybe I wasn't the right person to make this but I think I included the pertinent information for each. I did have a hard time figuring out the N64 as there is conflicting data between it being a R4300i, VR4300, or a variation of the VR4300. Atari Jaguar doesn't quite match the rest of them since their "Tom & Jerry" chips include more than the CPU. I know including Sony in the CPU names gives those away, I just wanted to be consistent throughout the naming procedure. The Hudson Soft one is likely obvious too (by the way, the CPU speed on this one is adjusted by the software, I just chose to include the top speed). Time limit is a difficult choice. I'd like to give enough so that you might be able to compare a CPU to answers you've already got in order to determine what the competition's CPU was at the time. While I realize too much time allows people to just cut and paste the same console until they get it, there are no prizes so it really doesn't matter if they want to do that. I'll start with eight minutes and make adjustments based on feedback. |
