Still fun...but I think the first one had more original ideas.

One minor quibble: Virginia's postal abbreviation is VA, not VI (Virgin Islands).

I think states bordering only lakes but no ocean should be considered landlocked. So cities like Chicago and Detroit should be there

Fort Worth should count as having major sports teams, since it and Dallas are in the same metro area. You wouldn't say New York has no football team just because its teams play in New Jersey.

I'm not positive, but I think Honolulu has a larger population than Oklahoma City - it should be placed in as an alliterative city.

I agree with XTOCb - landlocked means no ocean so far as I know. Otherwise we'd have to exclude every state - they all have some water source. Maybe re-word it somehow if you want to exclude the states on the great lakes, salt lake or whatever else might have excluded some larger cities.

I'm no poet, but I've understood alliteration to mean a group of words that began with the same consonant sound. If this is the case, then Oklahoma City wouldn't work because it's a vowel sounds (aka assonance), nor would Philadelphia because it's a different consonant sound.

Even with the asterisk, alliterative means what Apollo said.. OK and PA don't work. And I think you need to add ** to the 5th landlocked clue to get them all in one column? Overall another solid quiz.

Of course, San Juan is listed in 2000 US Census data as the 20th largest city/metro area, and except for a few Expos games, would fit into several categories

@daHOOK: San Juan is not in the US, proper (which is just the 50 states and DC). Rather, it is in Puerto Rico, a self-governing unincorporated territory of the US. The Supreme Court has previously ruled that some, but not all, of the US Constitution applies to Puerto Ricans and further found Puerto Rico to be, "a territory appurtenant and belonging to the United States, but not a part of the United States."

Shouldn't Miami fall into the coming from a Native American language category?

I'd agree with the Fort Worth comment although the analogy to NY is not apt due to the Rangers and Knicks playing at MSG.

Fort Worth should not count because the Cowboys and Rangers now both play in Tarrant County (the Rangers always have), which is the county that Fort worth is in while the Mavs and Stars play in the county (and city) of Dallas. The way the Chiefs and Royals play, you could argue that KC has no pro sports!

The Fort Worth v. New York argument is somewhat invalid, since the NY teams' title is New York Giants, New York Jets, etc. There aren't any teams with title beginning with Fort Worth. You could make a solid argument for the Texas Rangers, however.

By 2010 Census numbers, Tucson is named for a Native American word, and is larger than Kansas City.

Huntsville is larger than Knoxville, and Louisville larger than Nashville. If you're going by metro areas, then Jacksonville is smaller than Nashville.

Both the Rangers and the Cowboys play in Tarrant (Ft Worth) County - not Dallas County. Ft Worth has major sports.
