	votemeup: Buehrle has just one year where he received any CY Young votes. He did finish in the top 5 that year, which was 2005 when he went 16-8 with a 3.12 ERA. He probably should have finished in the top 5 in 2001, his first year as a starter. I thought he was better than Jamie Moyer and Freddy Garcia if I remember correctly. Classic case of consistently good, rarely great. I would love to see Buehrle on the Sox next year, although I anything is better than Lackey/Dice-K

	What is amazing is the number of these pitchers who are either: 1)In the HOF 2)Are GOING to be in the HOF and 3} Should be in the HOF.

	Wow. If I hadn't 'already' been rooting for Mike Mussina in the Hall of Fame, I would be now after seeing him finish Top 5 SIX TIMES.

	Actually, Goose Gossage's given name was, in fact, Goose. After signing a lucrative free agent contract with the Yankees, his teammates teased him by calling him "Rich" and the nickname stuck.

	@burnsy: That's an interesting story, but I think it's apocryphal. According to baseball-reference.com, as well as goosegossage.com, his given name was Richard Michael Gossage, and he obtained the nickname 'Goose' from his roommate Tom Bradley during spring training in 1972.
