Your acceptance of abbreviations is idiosyncratic - NES and PSX should both be accepted if PS2, GB, GBA, SNES, N64, and PSP are all accepted. I also would accept Famicom and Super Famicom.

Yeah, this quiz seems superfluous. Also, why on earth isn't "NES" accepted?

Changed the NES thing, sorry about that don't know how i missed it. I don't understand why you'd think PSX would be accepted, it was not the same thing. http://www.psx.sony.co.jp/ that si the official site for the PSX if you don't know what it is.

Google PSX - you get a ton of Playstation results. It's a common acronym - I think it arose around the time of the PS2 as a way of differentiating the two.

The NES came out in 1985 and the SNES came out in 1991.

Why do I doubt that the PSP sold more than the Xbox 360 (which didn't even make the list)?

@PhilSandifer Actually, the name "PlayStation Experimental" was a project name for the PS1 which was commonly abbreviated PSX. When the console was eventually released, both the media and gamers in general kept using the PSX abbreviation and it remained widely in use until what we now know as the PSX was released. @ORGAN1ZAT10N_13 I'm just guessing here but because you are deeply stupid and/or think USA=The World? I'm just saying. FYI, the PSP has sold truckloads in Japan.

If you're going to say 1983 then call it the famicom. It's known as NES here and was released in 1985. Same with SNES/Super Famicom. At least put both years. Also, accept super nintendo.

According to the source given, the PS3 has sold almost a billion units -- which is incorrect. In any case, either the PS3 or the Xbox 360 should be on this list. And when did handhelds become consoles? I know the source calls them "handheld consoles," but I think there is a distinction.

Lowbill, it's my understanding that the PS3 has actually sold very poorly, hasn't it? Why would it be on this list?
