| @Matty: Actually, I'm fairly certain that these stats are consistent from Gold and Silver on. The way I see it, in RBY, all the Pokemon had a single "Special" stat. Later, in GSC, this was changed to "Special Attack" and "Special Defense" and all previous Pokemon's stats were updated to suit the new system. They felt that their previous system was inadequate and they changed it. Yes, this changed some ordering and it's not 100% consistent with how it was in RBY, but it's still the Gen 1 Pokemon, just with the newer and improved numbering system. They decided to change the numbers after the original games came out and I'm sticking with their decision. |
