Kanchenjunga, not Kangchenjunga and please specify that the largest cities means largest metro areas. Simply largest cities, Shanghai would be the largest.

Also, why are Czech Rep/Slovakia counted in a single slot under "newest countries"? They're just as separate as Serbia and Montenegro... Awesome quiz, though! Really testing...

Gotta address a pet peeve of mine: It's not the tallest mountains you're asking for, but rather the highest. Those on your list reach the highest elevation, but they're not the tallest from base to height. (It's like how Denver's skyline is higher than NYC's, but not taller.)

Although it is not part of the United Nations, neither is Vatican City, and regardless, almost all major powers of the world consider it to be an independent country.

@Pit_trout and jbruin152, I included Czech Republic and Slovakia in one slot because they became countries on the same day. Serbia and Montenegro became countries 2 days apart, so they are not in one slot. @cantthinkofaname, I will include your spelling, but both spellings are actually correct. Everything else will be edited.

It's actually Vancouver Island. Victoria is the main city on the island.

According to the BBC and New York Times, Chongqing is the largest metropolis AND city in the world with ~35 million and ~13 million residents respectively. Wikipedia really needs to update. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00s8jhl

Out of curiosity, why the switch between the imperial system of miles and feet and the metric system with cubic kilometres?

The reason I switched measurements is because the website I used had it that way. Since most people use miles, I will convert it.

Actually most people use metres. But no matter, I was just curious :)

@crazy-canuck, minus one point for calling yourself a Canuck and not knowing where Victoria Island is.

Also, a question to all Sporclers (Honor system now): How many actually know the names and spellings of the top 10 highest mountains in the world?
