I was thrilled to type in things like Grease, Cats, Miss Saigon, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Little Mermaid and have nothing come up. At the same time, though, as much as I think Ragtime shold have won the Best Musical Tony over The Lion King, I also think The Lion King should have been included on the blog's list. Same goes with Man of La Mancha and Chess, which (unlike The Lion King) I love.
Also, what was with the exclusion of so many good recent shows, like Spring Awakening, In the Heights, and Billy Elliot: The Musical? A show from 2008 was included, so surely those shows were eligible. |
