| Not that I necessarily agree with it, but I believe the titles followed the teams that moved. So yes, the Sens won in 1924, but the Sens moved to Minnesota in 1960 and won the Pennant in 1991. The Mets don't count, not because they last won in 1986, but because the Yankees have won a bunch since then, so the city has seen a champion. The same would hold true for the Islanders (Rangers won in '94) and the Dodgers (Angels won in 2002). The the Providence Grays won in 1884 and are just two old for the list. I don't necessarily agree with the quiz, but it is consistent with league records, since the records follow the teams, and not stay with the city, with the exception being for Cleveland where the Browns moved to Baltimore, but the records did not follow the team. |
