	Very cool idea. Just want to make sure though, because A4's clue: Does "respectively" mean "in order"? Because if it doesn't necessarily, then there's insufficient evidence to continue without guessing...

	Good job on this. Once I figured out the "cylinder" thing, it went pretty quick. And yes, Zak, respectively means "Singly in the order designated or mentioned." The fact that the clue specifies the order XYZ fits the clue and the solution.

	The clue for D3 is a bit confusing. It says that this box shares '... a diagonal with only 3 Y's' but the 3 Y's in question are actually split across two different diagonals.

	@tallerpat, but the sentence said "my right diagonal" contains XYZ respectively. All I understand from that is that the three squares on that diagonal have X, Y, and Z in some order. It didn't say "the three squares going down my right diagonal", just "my right diagonal". Had it said the former, "respectively" would be more clear that they have to be in order. "My right diagonal" simply refers to the whole diagonal, not necessarily in any order, unless you want to ASSUME 'right' means 'going right'. That sentence makes it out to be a scalar, not a vector. ;)

	@Zak6009, I really think you're taking that clue to be far more ambiguous than it really is meant to be. As A4 only lies on 2 diagonals in the puzzle, one to the left of the square and one to the right of the square, the right diagonal would logically include B1, C2, and D3. As there are only three squares not filled in for the row, and "respectively" means "in the exact order mentioned", X goes in B1, Y in C2, and Z in D3.

	Once I "converted" the 2-dimensional puzzle on my screen into a 3-dimensional construct in my mind, it was pretty easy. Maybe a little less time, but a good quiz!

	Just a thought. Maybe for a sequel you could try to make one where column A is adjacent to column D AND row 1 is adjacent to row 4. like a sphere sort of

	Slide 6 of the solution concludes X is in C3. Why can't the X be in B3 or B4?

	mcbain: We know that there are only five Xs (Clue C2), and four of them are already placed(A1, B1, D2, D4). C4 is adjacent to three Xs, and we know two of them(B1,D4). That means that the final X has to be in an empty cell adjacent to C4(B3, B4, C1, C3) Column 1 is already full og Xs (only two in total (Clue D2)) From Clue D4 we know that all rows need X, Y and Z. There are no Xs in row C at this point - thus the final X has to be in C3

	Nice twist to a logic quiz, more are needed but this one was very easy. That would be my only reservation otherwise good job
