Greenland is part of the North American continent, so its coastline should not be included in Denmark's total. Asian Russia and Asian Turkey should also be excluded - those numbers look too high.

Croatia has lots of islands in Adriatic sea so that makes the difference.

Just like Iceland's islands boost it to more coastline than Ireland, which at least looks bigger on a map to me.

@phdstudent: Iceland is only 1 major island with very few smaller islands that would not significantly affect the amount of coastline.

@phdstudent Furthermore Iceland is indeed bigger than Ireland and has several deep fjords and large bays that Ireland has not...

I agree about the first comment about Greenland, Russia and Turkey. Or dont use the word "european" on your quiz.

He only says "European countries by coastline", not "countries by European coastline" nor "longest coastlines in Europe", so it's actually correct to include portions from other continents. I wonder if French Polynesia and New Caledonia are included though?
