Apparently along with Argon, Neon, and Krypton, I've subconsciously decided that Sauron and Moron are noble gases too. Spoiler alert: apparently they're not.

@miyomiyo1: Dysprosium Also, this is probably the only minute quiz that's actually possible

@miyomiyo1: Dubnium is quickest (but Darmstadtium is the one I typed too. Facepalm!).

neither praesodymium nor unniloctium works. Yes, praesodymium was the first "P" I thought of.

Is it worrying that I thought of osmium rather than oxygen for O? And would have typed protactinium for P had I not run out of time?

I feel ya Cryptus. I had some normal answers, but I also used molybdenum, astatine, tantalum and rubidium. Lol at my scattered brain.

I started at the end of the alphabet and went backward since there are fewer and shorter-name elements for each letter than at the beginning. Still blew it: this is as much a speed-typing test as a test of elemental knowledge

If you had gotten 25, you would have been doing something wrong. That was hard. I didn't get 2 in time...

Is it just me, or do the longest/most-difficult-to-spell answers pop into your head first in these blitz quizzes? What other explanation is there when your answers include Copernicium, Ununpentium, Darmstadtium, and Gadolinium?

I figured out this quiz was much easier to just go through elements randomly for the first 30 seconds and then see what letters remained.

HelloPossum: It's out of 23 (no J, Q or W). ;-) And 23/23 first time (4 secs spare); not sure why Rutherfordium was the first R to hit me, but there you go.

Darmstadtium with 4 seconds left. Did some ridiculous ones though - ytterbium, lawrencium, molybdenum, tellurium to name but 5. I think that for most letters I came up with a much shorter one about a second after typing the long one.

@hempick: Of course it shouldn't, wolfram isn't the chemical name - it's the ore from which tungsten is extracted. Very different thing.
