Not a bad quiz; how did you get the katakana to show up?

That was interesting. The Netherlands was the hardest one. Oranda seems really random.

@TheNumbers: Netherlands = Holland (well not really) -> Hollanda -> Oranda

You could definitely list more countries outside of Europe. Also, if you want to make it more difficult, use the kanji for France, Netherlands, etc. Many countries actually have kanji that were once used. Even today, most are recognized, like "beikoku" for "United States".

@phibbyfan: Yeah, I didn't realize this had mostly European countries until after I made this public, so that's why I made a sequel with countries scattered everywhere. I am aware that many countries had kanji in their names, but I decided to stick with their more common names to make this simpler.

Man...totally missed The Netherlands, Ukraine, and Turkey. And here I thought I was gonna nail this one.

Very surprised to see the only kanji answer as the most-guessed one. Good quiz, I almost missed Oranda.

Reading the Japanese was no problem (since I live in Japan), but then trying to spell them in English, while simultaneously reading them in Japanese made me so befuddled. I kept accidentally putting in things like Itary and Torkey.
