Genuinely surprising that Japan is that heavily forested. Oh yeah and don't use "Congo" and "Democratic Republic of Congo"; use "Republic of the Congo" and "Democratic Republic of the Congo/DRC".

the thing with japan and south korea is that their populations are heavily concentrated along the coast, leaving thousands of miles of uninhabited interior. theres also been a decline in agriculture in both countries as people move to the cities, allowing abandoned farms to revert back to forests

Really interesting quiz - quite difficult, and interesting to see what the answers were! but as HiddenPalace says,
please
use more standard names: ideally, could you also accept "Rep Congo" and "Dem Rep Congo" besides what HiddenPalace says (most Sporcle quizzes accept these).

Why does "Republic of Congo", "Republic of the Congo" or "Democratic Republic of the Congo" not work? Excepting abbrvs. is great, but you MUST except the actual name of the country. @newenglander, very interesting points. Maybe this list will change as other countries see a decline in agriculture, growth of cities. A similar process is happening in European nations, as well as in our native New England (which might be up there if it were a country)
