Wasn't sure what to do with Ireland, bit of a hot potato. Let me know if you think my solution works.

ROI is in the British isles, regardless of politics, so I think this quiz avoids any ambiguity.

This is the first quiz I've seen that contained the word "bailiwick"! Good quiz, and you did right with Ireland.

Are the channel islands really part of the British isles? I don't know the definition, but looking at a map, it looks to me like they are more continental. To my eye, the Faroe islands look more like british isles than the channel ones. And if it is just because they are controlled by the UK, then shouldn't Gibraltar be on the list?

The Channel Islands are usually considered part of the British isles, despite being closer to the continent. Gibraltar is part of the same mainland as Spain. It's not even on an island. The Faeroes are not considered part of the British Isles, that only extends to the Orkneys, Shetland and the Outer Hebrides traditionally.

I love that Cornwall is a bonus answer. I had a proper chuckle at that coz I live there.

Given that there is some separatist movement stuff about how Cornwall is an independent Celtic nation, I figured I'd give it a bonus at the least.

Only one of these is a nation - Republic of Ireland. None of the rest are. Really there should only be two answers on this quiz, Ireland and UK. And the Channel Islands are not part of the British Isles. Really you need to take the word 'nation' out of this quiz, replace it with 'territories' or 'regions' or something. And you need to remove the Channel Islands. And urbanmapper, the Faroe Islands aren't either. If you look on google maps you can see they're part of a different ocean shelf - I had to check to be sure though.

Nation does not mean country. The UK is a country, in which there are four main nations - England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. They are considered nations both in popular usage, and as such in sports, for example, e.g. in the World Cup, or the Six Nations. The Channel Islands are not geographically associated so much with Britain, true, but they are commonly listed as part of the British Isles, so I went with convention.
