And there were many shows that were very popular in 2000. That is a horrible clue.
Apr 7th, 2010 at 18:07 GMT
might want to spell things right.

I should have given up after the Touched by an Angel clue, but here goes:
"Type 'Start' to Begin" is not a question.
"In what year..."
You need a comma in 27,000.
"Austrian"(I hate being forced to misspell something in order to get the answer correct)
"squared" means "by 2." You should say "100 to the power of 5."
"Who played Frodo
Lord of the Rings"
Accept "Wood" and "West" since you accept last names elsewhere.

Futuramia???? Austrain??? Please stop making quizzes.

Where did the info for "Touched by an Angel" come from? I would think it would have been Survivor or Who Wants to be a Millionaire? from what I can find.
Apr 7th, 2010 at 19:00 GMT
who wants to be a millionare was their but not number 1

The great wall question should be removed because there are so many things wrong with it. For example, you ask what YEAR it was built and the answer is the 7th CENTURY B.C. Also I'm pretty sure it was first constructed around the 5th century b.c and was constantly rebuilt until the 17th century a.d. So your answer doesn't make a lot of sense.
Apr 7th, 2010 at 19:14 GMT
also Einstein did not invent the atomic bomb.
Apr 7th, 2010 at 21:51 GMT
I didn't happen to know the answer to the first question. Therefore, I can't answer any of the other questions either. Thanks a lot for using this terrible format.

There are a LOT of problems with this quiz. As previously mentioned, Futurama is spelled wrong. To finish off this "top rated" argument, according to Nielsen Ratings, Survivor: The Australian Outback was #1 in 2000. Touched By an Angel was NEVER #1--it peaked at #6 in the 97-98 season. Although J Robert Oppenheimer (J Robert, not just Robert) is more correct than Einstein, it would be more correct to ask who is the "Father of Atomic Bomb," as there were many collaborators in the Manhattan Project. As previously stated, both the 100 to the fifth power and the great wall question are horribly phrased. "Powered by five" is completely nonsensical, and, well, what Jordan8c said about the wall. Finally, the first video game is, according to wikipedia, Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device. I actually had to look that one up because if the Odyssey was the first game console, OBVIOUSLY the first game could not have been Pong. Realistically, you should get rid of at least one of your video game questions anyway, and replace with a sports, literature, or 'potpourri' type question.
Apr 8th, 2010 at 02:30 GMT
"Tennis for Two" should be accepted for "Pong" as that is what it was originally called.

Corrected comments from Patassassin, for those who want to hear what the quiz creator says, but don't want to stab themselves in the eye and abandon the English language. "Look, I've fixed the problems now. Please stop with the negatives. Thanks, and I will make more quizzes." "I fixed the problems. You can try again." "Who Wants to be a Millionaire was there, but not number one." I didn't try the quiz. Sounds like it could use some work.

ok well i looked at the #1 tv show in 2000. there is multiple theorys about what show is number one. and i dont see any other problem and so please just dont hate Ill try to fix and hope it will work. just enjoy it please.
Apr 8th, 2010 at 17:38 GMT
no, there are not multiple theories. the "#1 tv show," as you call it, is a subjective category and therefore shouldn't be a question, because you're asking us to read your mind about what show you thought was best in 2000. as for the most-watched show, it was survivor.
Apr 8th, 2010 at 17:43 GMT
if it will make you all happy. then ok just you can leave somthing positve things about it to ok. thank you.

If you actually have a source for touched by an angel, you need to list it. If you got it from a website, the question needs to say, "According to [website] what was the #1 show..." The same with the other questions. Nobody's giving you negative feedback to be mean--they're just trying to help you make a more accurate quiz. It's hard to be positive when you've created something that has so many errors, it is impossible to realistically expect anyone to be able to complete.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 11:35 GMT
ive change the touched by an angel to survivor and yes people are giving a negitve response and i would be fixing the problem if their was anyting wrong with them. and if people would tell me. ok thanks, enjoy playing sporcle.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 14:44 GMT
Patassassin, people _have_ been telling you what your problems are. You're either not reading them, or misunderstanding them. If you want to make your quiz better you need to seriously and completely read every comment that's been posted.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 15:03 GMT
Okay, here are some errors for you to check. Feel free to ignore them, but you'll just be getting yourself more negative comments: -"Math Question - 100 powered by 5" would be better written as "100^5". The ^ symbol is used in math to mean "to the power of" -"Bonus Question - Who was are 18th President" should specifically state US President, and you misspelled "our" as "are". -"History Question - Who were the first people to be in America" is incorrect. The first people in the Americas were most likely Asians, but even so you should accept "Native Americans" as well. Either way, Vikings is terribly, terribly wrong.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 16:53 GMT
inyro ive fixed the problems that the other commenters have told me and yes ive fixed the other problems you saw was wrong as well. but with the other history question, I ment who was the very first ones to go in to the americas. and i looked up who they were and most of them say the vikings were the first ones to go and see the americas so, I will keep that answer. if anyone else has a problem ill change it. thanks.
Apr 9th, 2010 at 22:46 GMT
Good to see that you've made some changes, but you've missed others. -"History Question - Witch President..." You used the wrong homophone of the word 'which' here. -"History Question - What year was the..." You should change 'What year' to simply 'When', because the Great Wall of China (like Rome) wasn't built in a day. -"History Question - Who were the first people to BE in America" The way this question is phrased, you're asking who the first people to be, for any period of time, in the Americas. That answer remains nomadic tribes from Asia, who either crossed the Bering Strait when it froze over or (as some archeologists suggest) came over by boat from China and colonized on the West Coast. If you want the Vikings to be the proper answer, ask the question differently.
Apr 11th, 2010 at 20:07 GMT
Great wall contruction began in 5th century bc not 7th.
Apr 12th, 2010 at 05:49 GMT
This isn't how Jeopardy works. You don't have to answer in order. Also, this says that in 2000, Friends was the highest rated show. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-watched_television_broadcasts
Apr 12th, 2010 at 16:44 GMT
wikipedia is a lie people can chase it and jeopardy is just the name of the quiz. so just relax and be thankful. and most web sites show that the wall was first built in 7th bc, deal with it.
Apr 14th, 2010 at 20:26 GMT
Depends on whether you are talking about the (season) that ENDED in 2000, or the (season) that STARTED in 2000... you should say 2000-2001 SEASON if you want Survivor as the answer
Apr 15th, 2010 at 04:19 GMT
Wikipedia is a lie? Sure, it's not good to list as a reference in a scientific paper. But 99.999% of the facts are correct and can be used to a great extent as an everyday reference.
Apr 15th, 2010 at 17:26 GMT
like i said. wikipedia can be changed and messed with. people can put retarded remarks an dmake wikipedia close that source place.
