wow, most of these sequels were horrible...with the exception of a couple of them
Oct 4th, 2009 at 19:09 GMT
You need to enter the full titles for some of them, not just the part that comes after the colon (for example, actual titles are Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Babe: Pig in the City, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and Speed 2: Cruise Control). While I think it's okay that you accept just the second half of the titles, those should really be the correct answers that appear (and I was confused when they weren't accepted).

i like that it accepts the abridged answers, i hate quizzes that don't take just the last name or some shortened version - it doesn't make it any tougher, just makes it more tedious.

I like this one a lot! Can I suggest you use "National Lampoon's Vacation" as the Original and accept either European Vacation
On Casino Royale, you should identify the year (2006) as there was a very bad James bond film with the same name in 1967.
A couple of additional suggestions? Planet of the Apes (1968)/Beneath The Planet of the Apes, Before Sunrise/Before Sunset, Fantastic Four/FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Die Hard 2/Die Hard With A Vengance, Analyze This/Analyze That, The Whole Nine Yards/ The Whole Ten Yards, Rocky V/Rocky Balboa.

But why accept both "Christmas Vacation" and "European Vacation", but not accept "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" as the sequel to "A Fistful of Dollars" (it was the third in the series)?

I always thought Elektra and Daredevil were similar..
Oct 9th, 2009 at 04:54 GMT
haha. 5/5 for including babe: pig in the city.
Oct 9th, 2009 at 13:24 GMT
I disagree that subsequent sequels should be accepted, only the immediate successor should be allowed. But if you're going to be consistent, you need to accept Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (aka Mad Max 3).

How is Quantum of Solace the least known?
Oct 10th, 2009 at 18:24 GMT
judging by these comments, you removed some good answers, like casino/quantum, home alone, speed. you should put them back

The Last Crusade was the sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark. Temple of Doom takes place in 1935, whereas Raiders is set in 1936, and Last Crusade in 1938.

surprised dawn of the dead is one of the least gotten...granted im a big horror fan, but thats one of the most well-known horror movies ever
Oct 11th, 2009 at 05:24 GMT
I dont think they were looking at time lines silver, I think the film's release date. Temple came out in 84, Crusade in 89.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 05:42 GMT
What?!? Dirtier Harry isn't accepted!
Oct 11th, 2009 at 06:10 GMT
Awesome quiz, though it's missing my all time favorite sequel title... Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo!
Oct 11th, 2009 at 06:13 GMT
Good quiz, but needs more Breakin'.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 06:15 GMT
Didn't even know some of these films had sequels. Babe: Pig in the City? That just sounds awful.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 06:37 GMT
Babe Pig in the City was actually quite good. I remember Gene Siskel, before he passed, naming it his favorite film of 1997. And my film of all time, Aliens, is well represented here.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 06:41 GMT
This quiz has sequel potential. Hopefully with a different quiz name.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 07:01 GMT
Seriously, For a Few Dollars More is so little-known? (Though I admit I tried "Faster and More Furious.")
Oct 11th, 2009 at 07:08 GMT
I got all of the left column and none of the right. Strange.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 07:51 GMT
I think two fast two furious should be acceptable. I wasted a lot of time on that one with all the to, too, two possibilities.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 10:34 GMT
Its the temple of doom......not the last crusade.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 10:54 GMT
dang. i tried christmas vacation and vegas vacation...forgot all about europe.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 12:22 GMT
I refused to see the sequel to Highlander. The WHOLE POINT of the first movie was that there can be only one. You can't go "oops, just kidding, there's more!" to make more movies!
Oct 11th, 2009 at 12:54 GMT
@jiminymatthew: Are you too North America-centic? ;)
Oct 11th, 2009 at 13:28 GMT
Piranha 2: The Spawning - Besides being the greatest title of all time, also has flying fish cam, and got James Cameron fired from his first professional directing gig. It's the holy grail of bad sequels!
Oct 11th, 2009 at 13:57 GMT
Yeah, the sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark is definitely Temple of Doom. The sequel to Temple of Doom is what they had, The Last Crusade, just messed that one up. Didn't do too well though :P
Oct 11th, 2009 at 14:15 GMT
Temple of Doom is a prequel, since it takes place prior to the previous film.

How could you leave out Crocodile Dundee 4: Crocodile Dundee in LA 2?
Oct 11th, 2009 at 16:05 GMT
I tried Sunday Morning Hangover as a sequel for Saturday Night Fever, but alas. Also, kudos for including Before Sunrise/Before Sunset, both incredible films. :)
Oct 11th, 2009 at 17:00 GMT
I refuse to believe that Highlander had a sequel! should have had Airplane on here.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 17:38 GMT
Purple Rain had a sequel??? As if the first one wasn't awful enough! Fun quiz.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 17:48 GMT
No love for Jurassic Park?
Oct 11th, 2009 at 20:10 GMT
If you're taking The Last Crusade for Raiders of the Lost Ark, then Herbie Goes Bananas and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo should be accepted as well, for Dean Jones' sake.
Oct 11th, 2009 at 20:24 GMT
Can I name the names of these sequels? Sounds like the discussion in
Through the Looking Glass
about the distinction between what a song is, what its name is, what it is called and what its name is called. ;-)
Oct 12th, 2009 at 01:20 GMT
'Mad Max 2' should be accepted since 'The Road Warrior' was the north american title, whereas it was originally released in Australia as 'Mad Max 2' (and before it got its US release). Just sayin'.
Oct 12th, 2009 at 01:21 GMT
oh yeah - 24/24 on first go. Knew my Prince fanboy streak would come in handy one day!
