Some of these aren't necessarily synonymous. North Borneo became part of Malaysia, but they don't mean the same thing. Similarly, Dalmatia is a part of Croatia. Nippon is just the Japanese name for Japan.

good quiz except Britannia was the roman name for the islands of Great Britain (now UK) not just England - even though they never conquered Caledonia they considered it part of Britannia

Japan is still Nippon in Japanese. Indochina is the region east of India and south of China, including Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Anatolia (Turkey), Dalmatia (Croatia) and Bohemia (Czech Republic) are regions of their respective countries and never used to be old names for them.

I think Indochina covers more than just Vietnam. As far as I know the term generally includes Laos, Thailand, Camdodia and Burma. It's one of those areas that have no absolute boundaries, like Hindustan or Kurdistan. Having said that it's a nice idea for a quiz.
