| This is a mix of names of Tennos (Suiko, Meiji), era names (konin and jogan) which, before the meiji restoration were not concurrent with the reigns of tenno, and architectural/artistic periods (hakuho, and tempyo). So really its like having a quiz about "english dynasties" but having the answers be "Wars of the Roses, Romanesque, Elizabeth I, High Gothic, and Hundred Years War". So really, no matter how obscure they are, they are not correct since you got them from a website concerned with japanese art and art history, not with historical periods or "dynasties" a concept which doesnt even exist in japan since the line of the tenno has (in theory) descended unbroken within the same family for over 200 generations.
Japanese history is, like yodabutter said, is broken up into periods-- asuka, nara, heian etc. for which there are already quizzes on sporcle. while it would be interesting to see a quiz with the era names (konin, jogan, etc.) but this is not one of them. Besides, fujiwara is never spelled with a g, not in any of the systems of japanese romanization. |
