I like this, but you should change the color of the text. Black words on a dark blue background really puts a strain on the eye

Since entering "Santiago" is accepted for Chile and Cuba, perhaps it might also be accepted for the Dominican Republic?

I don't think so. Chile and Cuba are added to distinguish the cities, whereas Santiago de los Caballeros is a different name for itself. Just as we always say Santiago de Compostela and not just Santiago.

Not sure what your source is, but I guarantee Maracaibo is not bigger than Caracas, among other things.
