| @Data37: Yes, Jamie McLennan played 4 games (244 minutes) with the Rangers in 2003-04, but in this quiz that does not make him a backup goalie for Rangers that season. The definition says that only the goalie that played 2nd most minutes for a team is counted as backup. In this case, the Rangers backup goalie in 2003-04 is Jussi Markkanen (26 games), not McLennan, although Markkanen was traded to the Oilers before the end of the season. That is the reason why there is no NYR for McLennan.
I admit that the definition has its flaws and that there are some cases where it may be questionable, whether a goalie should be defined as backup or not. But somewhere you have to draw the line in order to get some result and this time I did not allow any exception. |
