As an aside, I remember the student pub at UCD had what was essentially an 8-ball only set. 7 red balls, 7 yellow balls and a black ball. Maybe it still does for all I know. This was back in 1994-95. To this day I've never seen that anywhere else, but if you're playing 8-ball, you really don't need anything else. High/low, solids/stripes, red/yellow...doesn't really make a difference. |
