I have to ask: If Cedar is used 43 times, and Mountain is used 43 times, why isn't Mountain a regular answer?

Because it's a 20-answer quiz (I don't like quizzes with an odd number of answers). Mountain is also accepted for Cedar, so you only have to name one of two.

Can we have another example of a "Spring" City, rather than Spring Valley twice?

Good idea for a quiz. I gave it 5 globes at first, but downgraded it to 4 globes after reading the first two comments. If two answers have equal numbers, they should both be included. Aesthetics should not trump completeness, in my opinion. If having an even number of answers is really that important, then you should truncate the quiz at 18.

Amusingly I managed to get all the answers but might only have gotten 18/21 if Mountain was a regular answer, because seeing Cedar appear after I typed Mountain led me to try other trees.

Shouldn't Cedar and Mountain be on there because they both have 43...?

Next can we see one for last words in a city name? I suspect there'd be Beach, Valley, Spring, Mountain, etc.

Wow, haha, I did not suspect this unanimous opinion. I think I got my original solution from another quiz, can't remember which one though. Guess it's just my weirdness that I dislike the way the quiz looks now, so unbalanced and such a 'random' answer cut-off... @adamnvillani: Yep! Coming soon...

Hmm, I wonder why there are so many more 'wests' than 'easts'? Good quiz! One thing, I think you should have 'saint' rather than 'st' as the displayed answer-purely for aesthetic reasons.

The east was settled first, and the west took their name from the east. Cf. Lafayette/West Lafayette, Indiana.

so many 'New's, it's almost like the US was founded by groups of people from other places who named these cities after where they came from

pfrijirtr -- i dont understand your comment... i gotta say i started off really great then i just died out lol... some answers i missed i have towns right near me too -- *headdesk!!* And I'm gonna go against the majority here and say as long as both answers were accepted, i dont feel it necessary to list separate... people are so nitpicky its ridiculous on here...

It's interesting how north and west are more popular than south and east. I understand west, because that's the direction the country largely expanded. But why is north more popular than south?

Just amused myself making up places just using the answers: White Pine, Big Lake, Grand Mountain, North Spring etc (some of which probably exist anyway!)

Clearly someone needs to create a new version of a large western suburb of Cleveland. And make a town to the north of it as well.

I'd like to suggest that "place" be replaced by "city" in the question. I got distracted and forgot that the original link said "Cities." "Place" can mean just about anything.I street is a place, a hotel is a place, a backyard is a place. Changing that one word would clear up any confusion.

@cgrapes429: Not so. Here in WA we have Port Angeles, Port Ludlow, Port Orchard, Port Townsend, Port Hadlock... and that's just off the top of my head. Also some in Maine I can think of, like Port Clyde.

I think you misread the comment, charolastra. The OP said that all of the examples (i.e. the ones on this quiz) are in Florida. Which is absolutely the case. I'm definitely a child of the West. I got "la," "el," "san," and the bonus answers "los" and "santa" before I even thought to try colors. I also tries "las" before moving to the colors.

@charolastra: I don't think he was saying that Florida is the only place you find "Ports", just that all the examples given were from there.
