The city's name is New York. It is refered to as New York City to avoid confusion with the state of New York.

Technically, it's Boise City according to your source, which ranks 100th on the list. If you're going by actual city name, Boise City should be on the list.

Boise (City) has always been a bonus answer in this quiz. It's the official name, yes, but because it's usually just Boise on Sporcle quizzes I made it a bonus answer instead of a real answer. People seem to want NYC as well, that's a bonus answer too as of now.

I was hoping Winchestertonfieldville might get a mention, but I guess aside from the Radleys and Dr. Pepper, there aren't very many people who live there.

Really good quiz. I second the suggestions for a sequel and would also add -polis to the list.

Enjoyed the quiz. Lexington is 65th. The "-Fayette" extension represents the merged city/county government.

How do you make something into a bonus answer? I've been wondering how to do that.

Great quiz. Not to nitpick, but the quiz title should really be "largest U.S. cities ending in these suffixes," rather than "...words."

I've been to Springfield, Missouri. All I remember was a giant fork sticking out of the ground and a Super 8 motel. I was the only one in that motel that wasn't either with a prostitute or commiting suicide.

I was getting frustrated with this quiz, so I typed in "Fairfield," a tiny town close to me, in annoyance. Imagine my surprise when it miraculously popped up as a city in California?
