This got a lot trickier as almost all cities in Maryland are part of either Washington or Baltimore, while most in New Jersey are included in either New York or Philadelphia.

I liked this because you made me think in different terms. Some of these metropolitan areas are grouped with others to form CSAs, so it was a bit confusing at first. For ex. San Bernardino is grouped within the Los Angeles CSA. So, I had to figure out what you were doing. But I do have to say that in Kansas, I do believe Lawrence has a higher population than Manhattan; check it out. :) Good game!

Oakland didn't give me San Francisco-Oakland. But otherwise, this was a fun quiz!

I'm surprised Pascagoula is not part of Gulfport/Biloxi. Great quiz, though!

@troncy: Yeah, they're all MSAs as defined by the census bureau, not CSAs. Lawrence Metro just misses the cut, it has a population of 112.000 against Manhattan's 113.000. @Lindsay: Alright, that's acceptable now. (I didn't think anyone would try Oakland first)

Is Newark, NJ part of NYC in this quiz, because it should be first for NJ

There's a typo for San Bernardino that needs fixing.

Yes, Newark (and a couple of other big NJ cities) are included in the New York metro area. And I fixed the typo (I was a bit sloppy, I checked if the quiz accepted everything, not what it showed)

It would be helpful if the abbreviation for Fort was accepted for Fort Smith (you accept St for Saint).

Yes they are, but this quiz just uses MSAs, that's the standard way of defining US metro areas.

Stumbled upon my own state (WA)-I thought Kennewick-Pasco-Richland, Bremerton, or Yakima would be bigger than Olympia.
