	sacramento seemed kind of obvious to me when you consider the size of LA and SF, san diego, oakland etc. harrisburg and jefferson city almost slipped by me though

	Kind of remarkable when you compare Sacramento to a tiny burg like Montpelier and realize they're both about the same size relative to their states. There's a lot more people in California than Vermont!

	@zlb33: Over half the population is in one metro area (Anchorage), but Juenau still has over 4% of the state's population, 2% being the cutoff here.

	Great quiz...living in British Columbia, we're very aware of how small Olympia is because we get lots of TV programming/news out of Washington state.

	@zlb33: Keep in mind that the city of Juneau is absolutely enormous, sizewise - it includes far more than just the densely populated part. It's basically an entire metro area (and then some) in itself.

	For Missouri, just remember that St. Louis and Kansas City are the two biggest cities in the state.

	@kazakhfillmore48 Considering both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are located in Pennsylvania, I'd hazard a guess that they have most of the state's population.

	@kazakhfillmore48 Being from Pennsylvania I can confidently say that no one lives in Harrisburg. The eastern and western parts of the state are heavily populated and with the exception of state college, there isn’t much in between. I remember going for a school trip to Harrisburg and needless to say . . . driving hours through Amish country is NO FUN.

	My technique was to guess capitals of states with enormous metro areas (NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami, etc). I still blanked on Trenton, though.

	What would be sizeable, even large, cities in very small states, such as Sacramento, Albany (NY), Trenton, Tallahassee, Annapolis and Springfield (Ill.), just don't occupy a fiftieth of large states' populations. Sacramento's metro is still, I think, the seventh-largest in California, after L.A.-Long Beach, SF-Oakland, San Diego, San José, Riverside-San Bernardino, and Orange County (not in that order), sixth if you consolidate L.A.'s metro with Orange County's.

	Trenton was the only one I missed. I almost didn't get Sacramento, which would've been a fail, since CA is my home state. Great quiz!

	I missed Trenton, too. I was down to about 15 seconds and was frantically running through states. I was so happy I thought I knew it (Carson City) and typed it in, only to find it was the bonus answer. Pah! Good quiz.
