| @venuspersephone: I suppose you're right. When internationally-recognized states bomb and kill people [even preemptively], not only is it okay, but it's done in the name of "freedom", "democracy", etc. When a partly-recognized state does the same, it's terrorism. You can apply your double standards all you want, but your political [and biased] comments have no place in Sporcle. I'm not endorsing one side in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I'm only pointing out the absurdity of your bias, and that your opinion is totally irrelevant to Sporcle. And it doesn't matter how many times you correct people in other Sporcle quizes, your ignorance on THIS conflict shines through. I'd like Hawaii to regain its independence after being invaded and forcibly annexed by a larger country (and its people made a minority in their own land), but it's not up to us here at Sporcle to make up our own alternative reality. Nor is this a political forum. Palestine is recognized by the UN and by most sovereign states, so Sporcle is reflecting that reality, whether you like it or not. Palestine actually has more recognition than Kosovo does, yet Sporclers -who are mostly Americans- only complain about Palestine, reflecting their country's national discourse, rather than true informed insight. |
