	Absolutely sickening. $660 billion for the military no problem, but when it comes to health care they pinch every penny. I do not understand our values.

	So we spend about 10X more than China with 1/3 of the population and an equal size of land? We are cutting on education, screaming because health care reform won't be free, disclaiming global warming because of the costs, and spending this much on promoting bloodshed and death and destroying Iraq and Afghanistan?

	its not like we spend that much on just the army, its the total defense budget which touches every part of the economy

	This estimate doesn't include the wars; it is just the defense budget, which involves maintaining our naval and air supremacy (which is the reason we have been incredibly safe since 1945), and also R&D. Much of it boosts the GDP
