I disagree with the inclusion of Notre Dame, IN & Stanford, CA. While there is a "census designated place" for each, neither is a city nor incorporated. Also, these population areas were named after the university, not vice versa.

I can't speak to Notre Dame since I got that one, but I have the same complaint about Wake Forest. I really have no idea about the propriety of using these places, but I typically think about those mentioned as being somewhere else (Notre Dame in South Bend, Stanford in Palo Alto, Wake Forest in Winston-Salem).

Wake Forest U was located in Wake Forest, NC (north of Raleigh) before moving to Winston-Salem. However, Miami (OH) was named after the Native American tribe that inhabited the area, not the city.
