Great quiz. Wow, I can't believe that Ron Guidry didn't get the nod to start in 1978.

Great quiz. Hard to believe some of these guys were starters. Not hard to understand why the AL went 1-9 that decade.

@hoyalawya, how can you say its not hard to understand how they went 1-9, most of these lineups had 4-5 Hall of Famers, to me, it IS hard to understand.

By the way, I shamelessly ripped off the idea for this quiz from one another user created for the National League All-Star starters of the '70s. So if you liked this one, you'll probably like that one too. http://www.sporcle.com/games/MMayes/NLallstar70s

I definitely want to see one for each decade. I'd have more answers if I could just guess Yankees from the 30's to 60's.

Billy martin was the A.L. manager in 1978. He held out Guidry because he pitched a complete game in his last start before the break. For good measure he also threw one just after the break.
