Please define the source (which for that matter should be the US Census 2010 - anything else isn't as authoritative or is out of date).

I would've liked a little more time to think. If it's a "mine" quiz, there really is no need to limit the time.

Give a lot more time. As PotatoDigger said, time really isn't the issue in a mine quiz.

Gotta add my support to PotatoDigger & Austerlitz- no mine quiz should have a prohibitive time limit.

protip: naming off states that have NFL teams gives you 22 of 25 without hitting a mine.

Oh my god! I can't believe how suddenly this quiz blew up! It's getting so popular! I will change the time to 7 minutes by the way.

love these minefield quizzes, would help to tell us the ranking out of 50 of what we have blown up.

I really think you should have an option to see the answers. I don't see why that would be a bad thing

I can't make that an option, because when you're making a mine quiz, it NEVER allows you to do that. I think it's better that way.

I'm the same as fantasysieger. Especially since I guessed the first four in order, then Louisiana. Scary stuff.

@courtneyyy: The only reason I knew to guess North Carolina is that it has two of the 50 largest cities in Raleigh and Charlotte. Of course, that same line of thinking bit me when I guessed Oklahoma for the same reason. It took me 10 tries to finally get the entire list.

I live in VA and I was surprised when it ended up so high on the list. Then I realized we have Hampton Roads (where I live), Richmond, and the DC area. But Kentucky was the one that blew it for me. :(

I was always taught that there were more people in Rhode Island per capita than any other state. I wasn't sure if the game was looking for per capita population or actual numbers. It would help if there was a source provided.

Yes, I was unsure about what we were looking for. I gather it's just numbers, rather than density.

@itswhatiam, you do know that per capita means "per head" ie. per person? The number of people per person anywhere is 1!

@Catherine, no, I didn't know. Now I do. I learn something new on sporcle every day! I think I meant more people per square mile than any other state. It's like being on "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader," in that the questions are things you learn in 5th grade, but when you were in 5th grade 30 years ago, you tend to forget it all!

Thank you Catherine. I second this. @itswhatiam: what is "per capita" per person? You're essentially saying that RI has more people per person than any other state.
