Great quiz but very hard!
Jul 8th, 2012 at 06:33 GMT
I always think everything's so much more recent! Excellent quiz though, well done.
Jul 8th, 2012 at 08:26 GMT
Really great quiz - just so hard!
Jul 10th, 2012 at 20:35 GMT
So many events I can name in a heartbeat...but miss the year.
Aug 19th, 2012 at 18:24 GMT
yeah very tough quiz... though I got few of them, I especially liked the ones that required a lot of piecing together. I thought "Johnson breaks oldest record" might refer to the 1964 presidential election, for example.
Aug 25th, 2012 at 17:39 GMT
Very tough! It's quite easy to guess things down to a, say, 3 - 5 year period but very tricky to get the exact year. Good quiz!

Jeez- so many I got wrong by only one year!.....and quite a few I was off by oh, I don't know...20ish years.

First thing I thought when I saw "Games" for 1992 was the Hunger Games, not the Olympics. I think something's wrong with me...

Isn't it sad how grim most of these headlines are.
Jan 23rd, 2013 at 21:54 GMT
Wasn't going to be too harsh on myself since I wasn't alive for most of those years, but still disappointed with only 1/3 of those I was around for!
Jan 23rd, 2013 at 22:48 GMT
There should have been distiction between the Popes John Paul. The one with the correct answer should have had a "II" on its name; otherwise I assumed that it was the first one.
Jan 23rd, 2013 at 23:01 GMT
@jsparkyp maybe so, but the quiz is about the headlines that were printed and there wouldn't have been any need to distinguish between the two when John Paul II died.
Jan 23rd, 2013 at 23:58 GMT
There is a Pope John Paul and a Pope John Paul II, the way the question is asked its for the 1st who died in 78
Jan 24th, 2013 at 01:13 GMT
should have added a 2012 one before it got featured
Jan 24th, 2013 at 02:00 GMT
Iraq has 48 hours could also be 1990 when invading Kuwait
Jan 24th, 2013 at 02:17 GMT
Who is the Johnson referred to in 1996? When I saw it I thought LBJ, but he was long dead in 96.
Jan 24th, 2013 at 02:56 GMT
Michael Johnson - Olympics
Jan 24th, 2013 at 12:10 GMT
To me - "Y2-OK?" is deceiving...I thought it meant something like "Well - we avoided immediate disaster - but things could still go wrong"...maybe the question mark was supposed to be enough of a clue - but certainly a less confusing headline for 1999 could be found...something about Kosovo perhaps??
Jan 24th, 2013 at 17:40 GMT
Too bad they chose Michael Johnson's '96 record instead of Donovan Bailey's record-breaking 100m run and his country's domination of the 4x100m race that same Olympics. What a Games that was.

I thought only getting 2 right would be horrible. Turns out I'm wrong like usual
Jan 27th, 2013 at 22:02 GMT
The Gore / Bush one is not a great one for 2000 since it says "Gore gracious in exit" and the inauguration took place in 2001.
Feb 1st, 2013 at 20:57 GMT
What I learned today is that although I can tell you a rough order of the events of my life, I haven't the faintest clue what the actual years were.
