| @peterpan: I wouldn't say that. Actual GDP is probably much more meaningful in this type of setting. With per capita, countries like Luxembourg or Monaco typically top the list. That isn't an indicator of their status or pull in the world since the overall economy is still tiny, but it might be an indicator of the wealth of its inhabitants. Overall GDP will be a better indicator of, for example, who can put together the largest military, where per capita is irrelevant. |
