Excellent quiz, I haven't finished the article but was pleased to see Rooney up so high. Henrik Larsson also spent a brief loan spell at Man United btw.

nah i dislike this quiz, why isnt van nistelrooy accepted, it is his name, not just nistelrooy! plus i dont know why rooney is so high yet, he is above andy cole, and sheringham who have scored far more goals

It's not my fault they were placed where they were, I only turned it into a quiz. Your gripe is with FourFourTwo, not with me.

Good quiz, although it doesn't seem to accept Van Nistelrooy for some reason? With regards the selections by 442, it seems a little strange for Wayne Rooney and Didier Drogba to be placed higher than the likes of Lineker, Shearer and Keegan. Don't get me wrong, they are both great players, but have they really done enough in British football to be viewed as superior to such greats?

The absence of Dixie Dean (379 goals in 438 league appearances) is an utter disgrace. These lists always favour current and recent players, either through lazy journalism or ignorant voters

Explain this to me FourFourTwo - How does the greatest striker ever to grace the premier league is 17th behind the likes of Rooney who still has a really long career (he could be hopeless by the time he hits 30, Shearer was banging them in at 35) and then Henrik Larsson on top of both! That is very bemusing and i cannot for the life of me understand why 4-4-2 would publish a list as bizarre as this.

yes trobot, possibly the greatest striker of all time in english football. Is it just me or does whoever created this hate everton? It's not just the dean thing, they pretend everton don't exist. Gray played for everton, lawton too, lineker etc. but there is no mention of everton here even though this is where they made their name. Other players like graeme sharp, who was probably better than gray aren't included at all. All this plus problems mentioned above make this a poor quiz I'm afraid. P.S. Just because there are several Man U players in it, doesn't make it good, octoman.

What about Everton? I agree with jim_fez. The player that scored 60 goals in a season isn't on it and players like Graeme Sharp, Lawton, Alex Young and lots more Everton have the best team of players from 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and even ninety years ago with Dixie
